The Promised Update

Since this site sometimes pretends to be a personal weblog, I try and keep it updated at least semi-periodically. Unfortunately, I typically fail miserably, and recently it's been for no good reason. I've often felt overwhelmed this semester by an underwhelming amount of schoolwork, stressed by a relatively stress-free time in my life, and concerned about things that aren't really deserving of my time. And in the midst of all the non-chaos, I've been neglecting the important things: assignments, letters to Mike, Foxfire work, LSAT preparation.

But what a difference a day makes.

For some reason, the time between Friday and Saturday served as some kind of motivational sea change. In the hours between midday Saturday and Sunday evening, I managed to do four or five loads of dishes and six loads of laundry, hang another dry erase board in my room, and made Kelly a CD. But for some reason, I feel intensely anxious.

Take today for instance: I switched my default browser from Safari to Firefox- and then back again. I couldn't decide, so I installed both on my dock. Then, instead of calling Courtney once to see if she wanted to go to Target, I called, instant messaged, and then walked over there. By the way, she was none too pleased about that.

I can't figure it out. I haven't been this on-edge since Sophomore year. Carl's got me convinced that between the uncertainties of dating, a prolonged hiring process at Motorola, and the subconscious stresses of the upcoming LSATs, I've reached the critical mass of my brain's potential to worry. I've always taken great pride in being able to shirk disappointment by anticipating every possible worse-case scenario, but now, at least today, I feel like I'm one of those constant paranoids who swears that talkshow hosts on TV are warning of government conspiracies.

Or maybe it's just a messed up sleep schedule.

An Upgrade and an Update

It's been awhile, I know, but I'm working on getting some things done with the site. I upgraded to MT 3.34 and am in the process of deleting the forums (which dump ridiculous amounts of spam into my mailbox) and the photo album page that hasn't worked in 6 or so months. A more substantial update is in the works, but I have to head off to ECE Lab.
